On a quick scan I find that, while the author succeeds in showing lower-income 
Americans did not overwhelmingly vote for Trump but rather voted Democrat as 
usual, and that the non-college whites who did vote for Trump all had higher 
incomes, he fails to define "working class" in terms of income, rather tacitly 
assuming AFAIK that wc="economically disadvantaged."  Can we assume that 
"working class" always means "lower income" or "economically disadvantaged" 
relative to the rest of the population?  Maybe the reality is that many of the 
white "working class" still have significantly higher incomes than some other 
people--as they once famously did--and that many of those 2-year degree and 
vocational ed folks know this and therefore support Trump because they identify 
him with their privileges, of which they are acutely aware--which would be at 
least a partial validation of the white-working-class-for Trump meme.

Democrats always talk about income rather than class.
