All the Nazi-ish rallies in DC until November of this year were pretty much
fizzles. As I recall, one highly touted Unite the Right rally over a year ago
drew something like eight or nine Nazis.

But the rallies from November until now in DC have been much bigger.  The one
in November drew a significant number of violent neos and the Million Maggot
March in mid-December was massive, though nowhere near the claimed million.

People were stabbed, while Mike Flynn threw his hat into the ring for Fuehrer.
Now Flynn's people are openly threatening murder.  My Trump-loving nephew is so
enraged about the election "steal" that he has stopped speaking to the entire
family.

I personally don't favor crying fascist every time your shoes squeak, but those
of us not gifted with dialectical second sight wedded to flawless Personal
Superiority can be forgiven for taking Flynn's death threats as a matter for
serious concern.

As to travel in the middle of the week, someone must do it since the buses,
trains, and airplanes are all running, the hotels are all open except for the
Hotel Harrington, and the highways are clear.

Perhaps nobody has told all those travelers that the dialectic has forbidden
them to exist.  Shoo!  Shoo!!

A fizzle is certainly possible, and would come as a great relief.  But to
dismiss the idea of serious trouble with the crushing elan of a Monty Python
animated foot strikes me as overconfident at the very least.
