Louis, Jeffrey Masko is right. The left needs its own armed elements, for the same reason communists and socialists need to form alliances with anarchists. I was thinking more of urban protests, rather than rural situations, but both scenarios can be equally as dangerous. Groups like QAnon, and The Proud Boys simply outnumber us manyfold.They are allies with, and part of, the police, and our government. It is they who have declared war on society, not us. Trump's defeat has only worked to embolden them. Things will likely only escalate under Biden. This isn't the 1960s any more. Events of the last few years, have shown there are elements among the right who are willing to kill as many of us as they can, with the police more than willing to protect them. Would Kyle Rittenhouse have been able to get away with what he did, had there been allies of protestors who had been armed ? I would like nothing more than to see more chapters of the SRA, there isn't one in my state, and see them filled with white comrades. I do not believe it is safe for people of color to go around armed, but weneed to acknowlege that white privilige exists, and if we can use this privilige to protect our black and brown comrades, all the better. Would you propose that the left have their own teams of hired security ready to encounter people like QAnon, or The Proud Boys when needed?
