Those arrested include lots of small business owners, a now former state legislator from West Virginia, public officials from municipal governments, a college professor, a now former CEO of a tech company, lots of off-duty police officers, etc. In other words, this seems to have been a very petit bourgeois crowd.
To my mind, this suggests that the GOP is in for a very bumpy ride over the next several years. The Republican Party is the party of the big bourgeoisie but its mass base lies mostly within the petit bourgeoisie. And it is these petit bourgeois elements who have been the most enthusiastic supporters of Trump. I can well see the GOP splitting into two separate political parties.
