As someone living in a municipality where the political elite have used COVID 
as a great excuse for neoliberal structural adjustment of the economy, I read 
this as just slightly outside the batter's box, so to speak, swing and a miss. 
If an undeniable fact that, if anything, the capitalist nations have been 
under-estimating this crisis and its potential from the start because of the 
economic chaos it wreaks. Right now, the Education Commissioner of RI is 
downplaying the risks in order to force teachers back into the classroom 
despite heightened risks of virus contraction. I have my own critique of Naomi 
Klein, as do many more radicals, but she did a decent explanation of these 
dynamics last year:
