Surely not. The "Communist Party of Great Britain" was a loyal defender
of the imperialist fatherland. It defended the Tory government of
Churchill even more ferociously than the left wing in the Labour Party
and opposed any workers strikes during the war time period. By the way:
this policy of "national unity" was not limited to Britain. The Indian
Stalinists had the same approach and ferociously denounced the August
Uprising in 1942 as a "fascist conspiracy". In contrast, The Trotskyists
and nationalist forces supported the uprising and opposed the "national
unity" policy.
