And hear hear on his interviewer. From my hometown Johannesburg, over

If you don't like Trevor's buffoonish impersonations - which are /surely
the best in the world, prove me wrong /- then we'll gladly have him
back. His command of dozens of Suth Efrican accents is mind-blowing. You
should be grateful, comparing him to the amateur-comedian competition he
has each night.
(PS: my bias to disclose is that 30 years ago, his dreadful stepfather -
who shot his mum in the head - was my mechanic for what's affectionately
termed a "skorokoro" beat-up second-hand car: a 1965 Series 2 Landy I
used to drive all over the region. From a discussion of the family's
precarity in his brilliant book /Born a Crime/, it seems like Trevor
might have used the comfortable backseat of that old beast as his bed on
occasion! But I don't know that for sure.
And PPS, yebo, he's way way too soft on elites when he interviews
them, but that goes with the center-left territory Stewart passed on.)
