One of these days I should write something about Michael Urmann and Hari
Dillon who I worked closely with in Tecnica. Both were in PL and both
developed the same critique of "Leninism" that I had from the
perspective of an ex-Trotskyist. You can read Hari's analysis here:

Both were based in the Bay Area, with Dillon being the key leader of a
student strike at San Francisco State that led to a jail term for
inciting a riot. Unfortunately, he ended up in prison not that long ago
for ripping off a leftwing foundation he ran. Urmann had his own
problems. We had to fire him as executive director of Tecnica for making
financial decisions without board approval.
I had many long discussions with both of them in my annual trips to the
West Coast for board meetings. Despite our past ideological differences,
we both saw Tecnica as a way of helping to regroup the left since it was
obviously attuned to the Sandinista revolution which was the closest
thing to a proletarian revolution since the Vietnamese drove out the USA.
