Typical stupidity from the guy who runs MR Online but just as dismaying to note
that the article originally appeared in Cuba's Prensa Latina.

This example could be matched by other instances of the Cuban government taking
a reactionary stance on one or another issue.

We have an obligation to defend the Cuban Revolution and to celebrate its
successes. While we do that we should not refrain from challenging them on
issues where we disagree.
Cuba has a great deal of moral authority. Each time they take a stance like
this they undermine that authority and weaken solidarity with Cuba.

Short term thinking and realpolitik may justify such a stance. But each time
another people is added to the list of those who struggles have been
disrespected by the Cuban leadership, Cuba is more alone in the world.
