I have yet to see a convincing cui bono analysis of the massive US imperial global deployment. What if the US simply walked away from this? What would the consequences be--who would suffer and who would gain? Besides, even analyses like the one in question, while they gleefully refute supposedly delusional US claims of world hegemony through fortification of "our" claimed area of influence and also to refute any "communist" claim to justify Chinese hegemony on a socialist basis, still tend to assume that the "rising" Chinese capitalists know exactly what they are doing, while "we" are bungling idiots. . Is this really the case?
