Moonlighting has a long and glorious history among symphony orchestra
musicians, whether you are talking about working as part of nameless studio
orchestras, for movies and television, or the various pseudonymous orchestras
that have appeared over the decades. The NYPO used to record under the name the
Stadium Symphony Orchestra, the Philadelphia Orchestra as the Robin Hood Dell
Orchrestra, for labels they were not under contract with. To say nothing of the
"Columbia Symphony Orchestra", and the "RCA Victor Symphony Orchestra" record
collectors are so familiar with. These were pickup orchestras, made up of
members from countless other orchestras.

I am sure there are more recent examples, but I don't keep up with classical
music in 2021, I merely excavate the past.

Uncredited recordings of "library music" ,some of it classical, go back almost
to the dawn of radio. This is nothing new.
