Thank you Hari for your kind words. David's most important construction was his
PDFing of Lenin's Collect Worker (LCW). I think mostly the 5th Edition printed
in Moscow. We at the MIA, mostly Brian Basgen and myself, scanned the LCW to
create individual documents of each and every entry in the LCW.  We did this as
HTML/web pages so each one could be found and referenced and then linked to
from other documents (i.e.: Kautsky on Lenin and then Lenin's reply so folks
can read the entire debate) which is what the promise is hypertext.

What David R. did was to scan the LCW as PDFs but used a rarely used format
that reproduced, with embedded OCR, the 45 volumes of the LCW. They look like
they were typical PDFs of the "image" kind you see everywhere else but they are
not. They use embedded alternate fonts and are quite beautiful in their
presentation. We offer his renditions as well as our own. The MIA sees itself
as a kind of clearing house/repository-archive for stuff that has shown up on
the internet in other venues. We do harvest other sites but seek out permission
to place them on the MIA before posting them.

David
