THank you Mark --- I find the analogy to Earl Warren interesting --- Let us
remember that Hugo Black, the "great' defender of Civil Liberties on the
Supreme Court has been part of the ruling that permitted the incarceration
of the Japanese Americans --- From what I learned from the details in the
Kaufman biography --- which despite my serious criticisms of the  book is
worth reading --- he was a very ambitious, self-centered person, without
much "saving grace" --- Maybe Warren's tears were genuine.

We gave Kaufman a chance to "come clean" in the 1970s --- we even offered
to meet with him to :"discuss'" the issue --- (Fat chance!)
