Out the strength of 543 lawmakers, 506 are filty rich millionaires. India had
a First-past-the-post system and out
of multiple contending aspirants, the one with most votes wins. Which
ironically means that one can win even by
garnering 10% votes. And Indian election have become very costly. Only
candidates who can afford to win by
spending lavishly for propaganda and for purchasing votes (yes, each vote is
paid 5000 Indian Rupees), which is
a big amount for the poor majority.
With a subserviant Election Commision, which is a constitutionally independent
authority turned into a tail
wagging dog of Mr. Modi, Election results can be manipulated with impunity.
No compliant is entertained.
For example, at Kashi Constituencyy, where Modi contested, out of 1.1 million
votes in the constituency, 1.28
million votes were counted, even though the Election Commision declared that
voting percentage was around
60%. But in the final counting, more votes were counted than the number of
eligible voters. Iam not sure
whether Modi took a leaf from Putin or it is the other way round. It is
reported that such discrepancies occured
in more than 150 seats. That clearly had put Modi's BJP in the leading
position. It also proves why the Left
candidates end up losing elections as they can not resort to electoral fraud.
Only 8 Left candidates could make
it to Parliament. Hence, there is no point in breaking out head over the
victory of Modi's BJP with a thin najority,
as it is all a sham.
