Dear Comrades --
The so-called three-legged stool of support for authoritarianism
("Trumpism" or "fascism" if you will) need s fourth leg.
First three legs --- 1). Unreconstructed racists who never accepted the
13th, 14th and 15th amendments --- and were apoplectic about the "second
Reconstruction" in the 1960s --
2)) Christian nationalist fundamentalists who cannot stand women getting
full equal rights and the opening for gays, lesbians, bi-sexuals, trans,
questioning, non-binary folks to be fully part of society's fabric
3). the billionaire class who "revolted" against the great compression and
the advances of "the movement" in the 1960s --- Powel Memo, etc.
THE FOURTH LEG are working class people who are APPROPRIATELY disaffected
because of the failures of neoliberalism to deliver the good which only
hollowed out their economic opportunities. This article clearly shows
that TRUMP devoted lots of speech time to these issues in 2016 and
therefore solidified some support from workers --
