The Gulf of Tonkin Resolution that authorized the US direct involvement in the counter-revolution in Vietnam (September 1964) passed the Senate with only TWO votes against -- It was repealed during Nixon's first term --- lots of lost lives in Indochina (and here as well) but the struggle against the imperial adventure ultimately prevailed.
I don't think the US will take that long to pull the plug on Israeli genocide ...
