Merchant capitalists did business with slaveholders, indigenous clans and 
tribes, feudal lords, royal houses; none of that makes the slaveholder, the 
feudal  lord, the royal households capitalist, the indigenous tribes 
capitalists.  Capitalism as Marx critiqued it emerges as a mode of  production 
by imposing a specific condition of labor--that being labor power existing as a 
commodity where it is exchanged for values equivalent to the necessary time for 
its reproduction.

Civil wars as two sections of the same ruling class?  Where with the emergence 
of capitalism.  France 1789-1796?  England 1644?  France, Germany 1848? China 
1912?  China 1927?  China 1949?  Chile 1970-73?  Mexico 1910?  Spain 1936-39?  
Vietnam?
