Calling for a general strike is like calling for a revolution--- its 
possibility much less its success depends on the 1) the  historic moment and 2) 
most importantly, the level of the organization of the working class parties to 
execute. You don't call for a general strike as a "demand,"  you program the 
general strike.  Calling for a general strike after the parliament has already 
nullified the martial law is a waste.

Factory committees and the like with the ability to focus the unrest on class 
structure are the necessary, though not sufficient pre-condition.
