Hello Michael: I also agree with your about Heather Cox-R. I see her mails
every day, and while at times they are a bit 'twee and somewhat supine to the
Democrats, I think they are usually worth reading.
Her views on this divide are widely held it seems - including of course John R.
Last week the FT had an interesting interview with Sen Mitch McConnell ("We're
in a very dangerous world right now" by Alex Rogers; 14 Dec weekend; p.19)
about his differences with the MAGA. Always tight-lipped, McConnell was clear
about his own "Reaganaite" view that Trump-Vance are wrong on foreign policy. I
thikn he is a bit wrong on how 'isolationist' the new administration actually
want to be. Nevertheless - some divisions. [I fear I cannot give an e-link,
the FT is very, very protective and expensive! I only get the W-end edition
usually].
Hello Mark: Well yes, not now. . . is an all-out blitz towards a militarised
regime to be expected. But as many here were saying, the ground is being laid
for when the new waves of to-be-made-unemployed get too restless. No? BTW I
have friends who have been praying for Trump's early demise because of his
unhealthy life style. . . One thing on his side is his tee-totalism -
astonishing amounts of data support this position. But I myself have yet to
take that plunge however!
