Honestly I was more focused on the second part of that sentence - "Syria will now become a shared American–Turkish colony". I think that remains very likely the case, although the word 'colony' is not fitting the bill so much as perhaps neo-colony. We shall see if this "American-Turkish" dominance does come to fruition or not. Honestly - I do not know much at all about the Libyan situation either - other than the entry of French interests alongside USA interest. I have not ever looked at that. I agree attention is needed to that also. As for China's oil interests - I agree they are in the game. In fact I believe this is one reason the USA-Israeli re-drawing of the map has been so much part of the planning.
