It’s not a western proxy war for starters. People are being blown up in Kharkiv, Donetsk and other places and the Ukrainians aren’t fighting in proxy because of NATO. They actually have agency , which is there country not being colonized by Russia. Lenin supported independent Republicans self -determination. Putin wants a greater Russia- Rusofacation of all former Soviet Republics,Notice even Lithuania being fortified because of the Russian threat.
