Marv, I served in three branches of a self-described Leninist organization that was not at all that selective. By what criteria can we determine someone to be in the "vanguard" or out? One criterion: If they're doing what we're doing, then they're part of the vanguard whether they join our group or not. What starts as a characterization of a politically-advanced or class-struggle aware subset of the working class, often is conflated with the vanguard party, an all-knowing association of the most politically-conscious and dedicated activists who compete with the petty-bourgeois political tendencies, which get banned when the vanguard party captures power. It has served as a rationale for one-party states. Is that Leninist? Mark -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Groups.io Links: You receive all messages sent to this group.
