FYI...while not contradicting the issue of the omission of the role of Communists in influencing MLK, you may or may not know that the CPUSA took a tactical approach to the SCLC designed to allow deniability to the SCLC being a "Communist front" as MKL was accused of being. They simply stayed away from any policy making decisions regarding that wing of the Civil Rights Movement. They participated at the "base level" of their members participating but that is about it, it seems.
