I don't know who has retreated from arguing for independent working-class political action rather than tail-ending the union bureaucracy. And the notion that how people vote in a national election matters is another delusion John shares on this list ad nauseam. That is, he thinks it matters how the tiny sliver of socialists in the US vote and it's worth our time to discuss it, now, in the middle of a fascist assault on our cities.
