Good am Mark;

Yes - it is indeed "an indictment of Chomsky” which "applies to most people who
work in US computer systems or electrical engineering research and development."

But isn’t that one of the points about “the Academy” post WW2?? It applies far
more to the ’softer’ parts and the whole- sale take over of the ’sociology’ and
humanities. But it does for sure also apply to the technical stuff.

But, not saying that working in such an industry as a whole was either a ‘free
choice” (One has to earn a living and maybe there was no other way for a
particular person); nor that it is possible to divorce oneself from engagement
in an all-infiltrating economic system.

That is precisely why - a revolution is needed led by the working class. Not
tinkering at the sides.

In any case, the book - I stand by - is an excellent one, and sheds a whole lot
of light on this sordid affair-Chomsky slant. You might re-read it…! (I have no
COI: I do not know this “Knight” - at bottom i think he is quite anti-Marxist I
suspect -  but I would love to meet him!).

Be well H
