Siyavash Shahabi Today the US-Israeli war on Iran has focused world attention on that country. Their war seeks complete military domination not only of Iran but of the entire region. As the comment of Siyâvash Shahabi noted above implies, this domination is threatened by the political consciousness of the Iranian people. That consciousness has been demonstrated time and again by their inspiring uprisings against the Iranian regime. The US-Israeli war also seeks to undermine and in fact crush that revolutionary process. Central to that revolutionary process is the struggle of the Kurdish people against their historic oppression. This gives added importance to the issue of the Kurdish people in Iran, and beyond. The third in my series on Kurdistan. This one focuses on the Kurdish struggle in Iran. It includes: *The origins of the main Kurdish parties in Iran and how their strategy was the "armed struggle", AKA guerrallism ; * the link between that strategy and the failure to link up the struggle for Kurdish rights and the working class in general; *How the failure of that strategy has been exposed during the 1979 revolution and since then; *the role of the Kurdish parties in the recent revolutionary movement in Iran. Since it's impossible to predict where Trump and Netanyahu are headed in their war against the Iranian people, we cannot really make any prediction for the future of the Kurdish struggle there.
