A guy who was a 17 year member and a top "leader" of the Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL) has resigned. His name is Walter Smolarek and here is a link to the google doc resignation letter: https://docs.google.com/document/u/0/d/e/2PACX-1vRIyGuCR41exdzbcZSf8BZC73zyY21Wq2Hpjii19ZnVc5AiZZBgJzKkkPrKZlZ7wtINcPdOGwZv-bga/pub?pli=1
It is almost all an entirely apolitical complaint about bureaucratic functioning without a word of serious reconsideration of the world situation, the situation within the working class, etc. Nor is there any theory of how a revolutionary current develops. The closest it comes is the following: "As capitalism inevitably produces injustices, the revolutionary party calls or joins protests. It recruits participants in these protest movements by expressing views that participants come to see as correct. When there are not protests, the party does agitational outreach to show itself and change the minds of more people. Capitalism's own dynamics ensure that this cycle can be relied on to continue. Eventually, the capitalist system produces a crisis acute enough to throw the system into question, and if the Party is big enough, the protests can become a revolution." This is basically what almost all the "revolutionary left" thinks. Its most interesting part is a few sentences in which it reveals that the 2024 Jill Stein approached PSL with the proposal that their presidential candidate - Claudia de la Cruz - join the Stein ticket as VP candidate and that the two would be "presented as co-equal candidates running in an alliance, both equally empowered to speak on behalf of the campaign." Unfortunately, PSL rejected that offer. I say "unfortunately" because had it been publicly known and had it been enacted it would have really revealed the Green Party for what it is - a hopeless pile of excrement. I think we can expect similar such resignations that won't include the slightest attempt to reassess what is really happening in the world, in other words, world perspectives. This is why it is fruitless to continue to cling to the hope that "we" can work with the Putinized left or that some of them will come to their senses. That delusion should have been dispelled many times over, the most recent one of which was the Porto Alegre "Anti Fascist" conference, which was nothing of the sort. Yet the opponents of Putin driven fascism came away failing to recognize this fact and with the illusion that they made some headway and that there is some hope for the Putinized left.
