David, You seem unaware that 501 non-profits are prescribed by each state's law to then have that organization and holdings being controlled by that state and such materials can be confiscated by that state. This has happened in other nations too.
So whether NYU is an official body of SUNY, or as currently a "private" university does not matter when the rulers decide what the rules and to change the rules - for them to better rule. The arrogance of so called "professionals" being far more identified with buildings, bureaucracies than actual knowledge and promoting such, were among those who trashed and discarded the U. S. Labor Department valuable assemblage of labor history in books and other paperforms - to instead ONLY keep digital copies (as if whom would control such being eventually provided but for perhaps a wealthy ruling class alone - since fear of thinking aware laborers who then question and seek truth.. As WHY I raised the reality that many wealthy rulers decided they did not need or want institutions to offer anything to help laborers beyond trained behaved worker bees. AND thus can empty out buildings that with less overcosts (includes well paid administrators, academics with letters behind their names also comfortable) - to join the many thousands of school laborers from sweeping to sitting at librarian reference jobs - to eliminate - as unneeded. With students being able to get "their awareness" and limited and likely controlled of what is offered for their "professional occupations" Why should those seeking diplomas have to travel and be housed and be in buildings that will no longer be needed - and become as blacksmiths - less in numbers. The main point I wanted to make, besides those records (and obviously as high nitrate content newspapers, since made in 1880, rather than earlier years of cotton textile based, will of course turn into crumbled flakes, as you expressed awareness of). While myself not infected with arrogant petty bourgeois privileged as having (desired?) "high education", but on my own journey as a low income high school dropout due to my activism (in the Civil Rights and then Vietnam Antiwar Movements hoping for revolution then) and the then awful NYC public school system, with myself Harlem born and grew up in, was assigned to then Haaren H. S., with only Boys H. S,, then even worse. As one of ten white low income students out of over a thousand of low income Black and Brown all male youth fellow laborers. and activist trouble maker in that school (Freedom Day Feb. 3 and May 18, 1964 Strikes) I was ignored my good test grades and the school administrators, whom never in that school but in their nice offices in the Board of Education - were only caring of receiving state income, from my actual attendance and not caring about me, So I never graduated but remained a activist, including in the occupations at NYU and Columbia and was at Yale, Princeton and Harvard where my then boyfriend attended, seeking to be accepted - as I sought liberation, rights, respect as better. So did not stay with him, but another fellow low income laborer of MY Class whom I could more relate too and for over five decades remained with, until he died this past October. So please consider my points and not your assumptions based on judgments you hold - that might be assumptions and not the reality of the greedy selfish monsters who care only about themselves as they profit from harm to humans, animals and no care in a needed sustainable planet However, more to me that I shared above, as my journey and activism led to my getting a job at Cooper Union Library when age 23 and learned about library conservation, systems, etc, as my life long journey of learning - but a "self learned" laborer, I learned about conservation from both the Society of American Archivists I joined in the late 1970's and became very aware of the American Museum Association - and received awards for my efforts at conservation, collecting, identifying many subjects and personal friendships with prominent curators and literary figures and historians. So my main point was - that AI seems will quickly end much "higher education" schools you seem more to relate too than myself, in my mainly occupying and objecting to their racism, militarism and service to capitalism - as their focus, as with other "professionals" hiding around "words and claims" they are much more interested in "education cultural institutions", as can provide their more comfortable jobs as their main focus.- rather than my class of hard physical labor and lower paid. It seems (even if you relate to university buildings, comfortable houses and cars as needed existence for you (as nuclear plants as your main addictive mindset) but I want to appeal to you as a comrade and not a conservative snob marxist that August Willich (1810-1878) considered Karl Marx, as uptight and arrogant) to view those low income laborers might have minds that are aware too! While you were at the then Holt Library and went to be a wage earner for a book dealer with expanded subject materials and myself a user and buyer of such for my own goals of seeking and sharing awareness of laborers history and struggles - as I both identify, research and assemble in actual objects to as this electronic site (I appreciate and learn from - as your Ma)rxist website using internet to share knowledge of) - Perhaps you might try to recognize my concerns and observations of the wealthy rulers goals - are far worse than you wish to think and contemplate for yourself and more the working class future - if there is not a workers led and comprised and deciding revolution, to end that rule and advance to better. I recognize and share my limitations of my own awareness and others know much, to still become aware of - but as a laborer also recognize arrogant class based talking down to disparage - and dismiss no ideas and thoughts matter from such "education" of daily life and experiences and seeking out awareness and identifying much that others with their dissertations passed for their three academic judges to award on - many are "limited" in many more ways. So if you want to share and compare conservation methods and practices, bring it on - I might help raise your awareness or you and others, might raise mine. But AI is controlled by wealthy persons not caring about how it affects you or me and only profits, so s unsupervised non-implemented for safety and concerns - as a world written about by comrade H. G. Wells. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Groups.io Links: You receive all messages sent to this group.
