Thanks. This allegedly most orthodox-Marxist of DSA's programs did not stand 
for a socialist economy. The preamble speaks of "popular control of resources 
and production, economic planning." There is nothing else in the program to 
nail down economic planning. If you don't plan overall allocation of 
investment, you don't have socialism.

Their relevant description of the economy is on page 11: "We call for the 
nationalization of businesses like utilities and critical manufacturing and 
technology companies, alongside regulation of corporate, communications, data, 
and financial sectors. We seek to ensure social and worker control over these 
businesses." This is explicit capitalism, only regulating a swath of 
corporations that are still run for profit and invest it to accumulate more 
capital.
