The reviewer argues that the Nazis ratcheted up their antisemitism by attaching
the evil ideology of Bolshevism to Jews. The reviewer himself hates Bolshevism,
maintaining the standard anticommunist line. For example, he criticizes the
book under review because it "arguably pays too little attention to the crimes
of Stalin’s regime." And he somehow knows, without evidence, that "Many, if not
most, Soviet citizens, united against a common enemy, pushed away memories of
their own regime’s brutality."

In short, the article is anticommunist crap, standard practice for The New York
Review of Books. And no surprise at who misrepresents it here.
