Trump has two mutually exclusive aims in his war against Iran: One is to maintain his strong man image and the other is to bring down the price of gas. If he cannot do both, he will lose the upcoming election, which is his real concern regarding Iran. In this article we detail how Trump plans to steal the upcoming election, the unprecedented wave of repression that would follow, and the response of his opposition (if one wants to dignify them with that word). That includes both the union leadership and DSA, which is doing almost nothing. In my district in Oakland, DSA has a candidate running who gives no appearance other than just being a somewhat more liberal Democrat type.
As for the ultra left - the same ones who in effect claimed that it made little difference if Trump or Harris was elected - they have learned absolutely nothing from their blunder. They might shout and rage at ICE's racist murders, but as for Trump's plans to steal the election? Capitalism is capitalism and a capitalist politician is a capitalist politician is their attitude. Capitalist democracy is still capitalism, so it makes no difference. And there is little difference between the MAGAite, Trump-controlled and fascist infested Republican Party and the Democratic Party.
