Not sure what people are getting at here. When Louis was alive I witnessed
how much he attempted to have substantive engagements with everyone. Two
things can be true at one time. Louis did seem to have a bit of a temper so
when conversations devolved into vitriol he was quick to take action.
Always thought he was setting the tone for what moderation should look
like. Over the years I had some substantive disagreements and I was never
banned until I loss access to my email account and was likely removed for
inactivity. I do remember the New York Times movie review article times but
I never associated that move with a retaliatory maneuver against his
detractor’s I saw it as an attempt to bridge the gap between otherwise
mutually exclusive interest. I was a young dumb college kid so maybe I
missed something that others were able to pick up on.
