Kiran, If you have enabled a firewall, i.e. "redhat-config- securitylevel", make sure you have port 80 open.

Also are you starting the apache process you think you are? Execute the apachectl process via its full path "/usr/local/apache2/bin/ apachectl". The apachectl program is installed in /usr/sbin under RHEL and is in root's path.

Hello,

I am new to Linux and HTML::Mason. I have installed Apache HTTP Server 2.2.3 on Red Hat Enterprise Linux WS 4 in the directory /usr/ local/apache2. When I execute the command apachectl -r start, it is not showing any errors/messages. When I enter http://localhost in browser window, an error message 'Connection was refused when connecting to localhost' is thrown. I don't find any file in /usr/ local/apache2/logs folder. I have no clue on what's wrong with the setup.

Could any one please help to install the apache and HTML::Mason.

Thanks in advance,

Regards,
Kiran
