I am in the process of writing a complete web application using Mason(mod_perl) and some back end perl code on apache 2. Although I see the back end going well, I am looking for ideas on how to improve on the front end. In particular I am looking for how I should glue in the Javascript and CSS so that it's fast and aesthetically pleasing. I would also like suggestions on user authentication, whether to use JSON and/or XMLHTTP requests, Database connection pools etc. Thanks.
