This is a simple configuration then.

You've been lucky.  You CAN get MASQing to work with one interface
but unless your out of ISA or PCI slots, you would be GREATLY
helped by installing another $10 NIC.

If you ARE out of slots, you can get this to work by configuring
IP Aliasing on eth0.  Then, it would look like:

eth0:  24.163.164.x
eth0:1 192.168.173.1

Again, I'm surprised it ever worked.  Setting up an IP aliased 
config is SUPER SIMPLE.  If you need help with it, I can give you
some pointers but it should be in the net-3 howto I think.
