We are running another NAT program (Injoy) on our OS/2 (Warp 4) machine.
Our LAN is small running 1 Windows machine, 1 Linux and 1 other OS/2.
All machines can get out to the Internet via the Injoy machine. Ping,
ftp, browsers.
But, the Linux machine is very slow compared to the other OS/2 machine.
About 1/2 the speed or worse for ftp gets and puts. Using Netscape 4.75
- there are lots of stalls and small pieces of data at a time. The
Linux machine matches or outperforms the other OS/2 machine on our LAN
in moving files around.
Running RedHat 6.1, kernel 2.2.12-20. I have the gateway setup as
192.168.0.4, eth0, IPv4 on.
I tried reducing the MTU on the Linux machine and it didn't make any
difference or slitely slower.
We are beginners with Linux. Any suggestions on other places to look or
documents to read?
