Well, . . . The network is peer-to-peer, no servers. On the network -
command line ftps work great. In fact, the linux machine was slitely
faster. This is comparing OS/2 machine 'ftp get'ing from gateway
machine and linux 'ftp get'ing from gateway machine. The linux machine
is the newer and much faster machine.
We don't have a modem on the linux machine and our only external modems
are 2400, so testing the linux machine directly on the internet isn't
really easy.
I tried some more archive searching and found the following:

plugged into a common hub. Is this correct?

Is this possibly also a potential problem? We just have a simple LAN
with a single hub. Our "Linux Masq Box" is an OS/2 NAT box, but the
situation seems similar.

Thanks. I had followed a link to TrinityOS once, but didn't know where
to start once I was there. Now, I will go back and read some more.
