Not completely sure that I'm following your problem, but here are the
assumptions I'm working under.

1. You have a small private network
2. You have a Linux box you are trying to configure for IP Masq.
3. You have a one or more Windows 2K boxes you want to go through the Linux
box for internet access.

If the above three are correct assumptions, then lets begin. If not,
disregard this response.

- Can the Linux box ping the IP of your ISP's DNS server(s)?
- Can the Windows box ping the IP of your Linux box?
- Does your Windows box list your Linux box as it's Default Gateway?

You need to be able to answer yes to all three of these before we continue.
If you can, then it would appear that you do have the basic configurations
correct. Now Masq comes into play.

- Can your Windows box ping the IP of your ISP's DNS server(s)?

If so, then this is all you need. Put the IP of your ISP's DNS server into
your DNS field and you should be able to resolve names from the Windows box.

For better performance, you may wish to enable a caching-only DNS server on
your Linux box, but it is not necessary for things to work and when
starting, can add unnecessary confusion to the works.
