no. workgroup is part of window's (netbios?) naming scheme.
it has nothing at all to do with dns.

chances are that your hosts will not have dns entries at all
unless you create them and run your own name server. short
of that, you can add name/addresses to the windows
equivalent of the /etc/hosts file. i forget exactly where it
is (somewhere under the windows directory).

you need to enter the ip address of the dns server that the
host is to use (i.e. your isp's name server or a local name
server on your linux box, perhaps).
