This may be a bit off topic, but I'm trying to setup a VPN Client behind my
RedHat 6.2 server.
Here are the stats.
Kernel 2.2.16
IPCHAINS Firewall (Trinity OS)
Internal masq client subnet 192.168.100.xxx
external Ip Address 24.15.150.151 (eth0)
internal IP address 192.168.100.1 (eth1)
VPN Client 192.168.100.25
LINUX SERVER
Internet <---->Eth0 (24.15.150.151)==(192.168.100.1)Eth1<---->SUBNET

using Microsoft pptp vpn service
I checked the VPN Masq page and became immediately confused. Here are my
questions.
1) Do I need to patch my kernel? It's stock RedHat 6.2 (2.2.16)
a) if so, which patch do I use and how do I apply it?
b) if not, is this just a CHAINS rule issue?
2) Could someone just layout the chains rules that I will need to open up
the proper ports?
3) Would I be better off with upgrading to RedHat 7.0 in hopes that the
newer Kernel and patches would make this easier?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
