The 2.4.x series kernel provide support for both ipchains and iptables.
Which are you trying to configure?  I would highly suggest iptables.  This
brings us to the question of which HOTWO you are using, one for ipchains or
one for iptables?

I'm not familiar with SuSE in general, but I think my iptables firewall
script should work (if not let me know and I will adjust it as needed).  You
