I tried compiling the 2.4.14 kernel source, and odly enough, it went fine. I then tried applying the iptables patches as listed below, and magically it worked this time. I'm not saying that I've got IP-Masquerading working yet (looks like I forgot to compile into the kernel the eth0 module :-o which may limit its usability a little) but at least I've got past the initial steps. > > I'm working from the newest ipmasq-HOWTO, and have > downloaded the kernel > > source for 2.4.14, iptables 1.2.4 but when I try to: > > > > cd iptables; make pending-patches KERNEL_DIR=/usr/src/kernel/linux > > > > it thinks for quite a long time, then complains that it cant find > > > > make: *** [/usr/src/kernel/linux/include/linux/autoconf.h] Error 1 Regards, Tim +------------------------------------------------+ | | | IT Manager - Carrington Wire Cardiff | | PO Box 56, Pengam Works, Cardiff CF24 2WR | | Tel:+44(0) 29 20256100 Fax:+44(0) 29 20256101 | | www.CarringtonWire.com | +------------------------------------------------+ _______________________________________________ Masq maillist - Admin requests can be handled at http://www.indyramp.com/masq-list/ -- THIS INCLUDES UNSUBSCRIBING! or email to PLEASE read the HOWTO and search the archives before posting.
