Hello, Here is my problem : - I use Putty (ssh client) on a Windows Me box to connect to my gateway box (mandrake 9, netfilter, iptables...). - When I use the "simple firewall" found in the Howto and set to my configuration I have no problem with SSH. - As soon as I use the "stronger ruleset" I can't connect to the linux box and I have the message from Putty : "network error : Connection timed out". - In the meantime (with the stronger firewall) I can browse the Internet with my windows box. - With the simple ruleset I can ping my gateway from the Windows box but I can't as soon as the stronger rulesset are loaded. - I have tried to add some INPUT and OUTPUT ruleset in the rc.firewall.stronger to allow SSH from my private network but it seams that the ruleset allow any new connection from the internal network. - I have checked the mailing list archives but I haven't found the solution. I hope this post to be clear enough.
