Hi,
I have Mandrake 9.0 (with Kernel 2.4.19-16), and I have attempted to get IP Masquerading working on a home network of 3 windows computers. I have IP Masquerading working fine, albeit periodically, thanks to the very comprehensive HOWTO.
However, I have this issue where after an arbitrary period of time (sometimes hours, sometimes a few days) the ip masquerading halts and will not work again, until the machine is rebooted.
Now, I know the HOWTO mentions (in 7.35) a port forwarding tool, IPAUTOFW, and that my kernel is more than likely configured to use it, but how do I find this out? The howto just sort of skips over that piece of information...
It also mentions using IPPORTFW instead, but with the instructions mentioned in the HOWTO followed carefully, this problem still occurs.
Am I just massively confused? Or....
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Alex
