Hiya,
I'm running Suse Linux 5.3 with Kernel 2.0.35 and tried to install
ipportfw yesterday. I did it exactly the way described on the
ipportfw-homepage, but it didn't
seem to work. It's possible to compile ipportfw and run it, but then there
appears an error:
linux:/data/x # ./ipportfw -A -t212.17.xxx.xxx/139 -R 192.168.0.2/139
ipfwadm: setsockopt failed: Protocol not available
linux:/data/x # ./ipportfw -L
Could not open /proc/net/ip_portfw
Are you sure you have Port Forwarding installed?
I had a look inside that /proc/net directory, but there is no file called
ip_portfw. After that I controlled once again my .config file if I had
enabled the Ipportfw, but the flag was set to "y"...
Today I downloaded a completely new linux-2.0.35.tar.gz and replaced my
existing sources with it. After that I applied the patch with exactly the
string from the ipportfw-webpage, then I ran make menuconfig, enabled
ipportfw, did make dep;make clean, compiled teh kernel with make zImage and
then ran make zlilo.
After the reboot I realised exactly the same effect like the last time,
ipportfw didn't work and display the same error messages...
I don't know what to do now...
