Looking for some insight as to why my uploads from a masq'd win98 to *any*
remote server are painfully slow. Im on a cable connection.
I can download from the same remote server and obtain speeds in excess of
70 k/s with the masqd win98 machine.
I am able to upload from the linux machine to the remote server and get 30
k/s. As soon as I try with my win98 machine the transfer starts out at
like 25 k/s then abruptly drops down to 4k/s, 3k/s then 2k/s and it
bounces around from a few hundred bytes to a couple k/s.
All other aspects of masq seem to function properly, www, telnet, ssh, icq
etc...Just my windows box is having trouble getting a good outgoing ftp
transfer rate.
I have the ftp module running as well as:
ipchains -F input
ipchains -F output
ipchains -F forward
ipchains -P input ACCEPT
ipchains -P output ACCEPT
ipchains -P forward DENY
ipchains -A forward -s 192.168.0.1/24 -j MASQ
echo "1" > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward
