The easiest way to do this is to map your internal machines to the Samba
server. Then configure the external machines to map these new samba
shares.
I suppose you mean using smbmount to mount the machines and then make samba
export the mounted filesystem. That's what I did, but it is a static
approach, I'd like something more dynamic.
Beyond that, you have to do port forwarding and it gets messy
for anything more than one internal machine.
There is a single internal machine (with private IP address), and many
external ones, which may be up and running or not.

Well, the answer you gave to me is a good starting point. I mean, having
your anwer in the HOWTO would be better than the current situation, where
samba is not even mentioned.
