Yes, there is something magincal about them. They are designated as
"private addresses". Unless you have been assigned the 130.... network you
want to use, you should not use it. It may already be assigned to someone
else. If you want a private network without asking permission, use one of
the private networks.
IP masqurading will hide your internal IP addresses from the outside world,
so if you use 130.... without it being assigned to you, the only result
will be that you won't be able to access the "real" hosts on the real
130.... network. However, if you ever drop masqurading and go on the net
directly, you will have to change networks to avoid conflicts. So please do
it right the first time.
If you have an assigned network, then by all means use it. Otherwise please
use private networks.
