I have quite a few questions on my mind. I hope that someone can help me. I
am running red hat 6.0 with IPChains for the firewall. First of all I want
to be able to setup 2 IP addresses. One is for the firewall and the rest of
the network and the other will go through the firewall but will hit a
certian machine.
209.xxx.xxx.1 firewall
209.xxx.xxx.2 through firewall and machine with ip of
209.xxx.xxx.2
Is this posible?
#2. I want to be able to forward diffrent ports to a certian machine. Ive
read many diffrent help and diffrent online documentation and use the
trinity os type rc.firewall. the trinity os didnt help me out to much
because they dont explain much with IP Chains. I have attached the actual
rc.firewall file that i have compiled to run on my firewall.
#3. I want to know if there is like a load balancing that i can do with
IPChains. What i was thinking is splitting up the load between 2 valid ip
addresses. The way my cable modem works from what i found out is that there
is only so much bandwith for each ip address so you can have a maximum of
about 2 machines wich really sucks. But i wanted to know if there is a way
that i can put like 2 machines on one ip and 2 more on the other ip. Or
should i just go DSL? thank you for all your help
[demime 0.91c removed an attachment of type application/octet-stream which had a name
of rc.firewall]
