Hello; With the various problems I'm seeing trying to get masquerade to behave I realized that before setting up masquerade I had the routed routing daemon running for the slip connescion I was dialinf into. In the various doc I do not find clearly is if firewall and masquerade are enabled and in use do I still need the routed daemon? At present I'm only getting sparatic communications through the kernel between interfaces. Even a simple ping dosen't reliably work. When I set ipfwadm to allow anywhere to anywhere and log packets I sometimes get just one interface accepting the ping and the other does nothing and other times it shows(when it works) both interfaces accepting packets. BTW, My system was origionall installed on a very old Linux release (Slackware 2.x). I've tried to keep everything up to date and hopefully have Slackware 3.4 installed properly now (yeah Redhat upgrade may be easier, but I don;t want to convert yet). Is there somewhere a listing, besides kernel source, of minimum versions of critical items (i.e. ipfwadm, various libraries, etc.)? As always, thanks in advance. jeff Jeff Adams [EMAIL PROTECTED] --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For daily digest info, email [EMAIL PROTECTED]
